Corridor Door
Having created a high poly section of corridor, I’ve proceeded to make a door that would fill the end of the corridor.
I wanted to make a door that would resemble a door from a spaceship, not only would it look sturdy and hard to break through but also air tight. To give the door a sense of protection I’ve also added a couple of bars across the centre that would act as a locking mechanism, my thinking is that the cylindrical handles would spin and the bars would retract thus allowing the doors to open and the player to proceed.
On the left of the image is the low poly of the door, I’ve attempted to take out as much as I can without loosing the too much of the detail that makes the door look like it does, while I’ve kept the sunken in sections as I want to keep the locking mechanism fairly detailed as this could be animated in the future.
